Emergency medicine demands emotional endurance, yet many physicians carry the weight of their experiences alone. Defusion, the intentional act of processing difficult cases through peer connection, helps humanize our work, strengthen team cohesion, and protect against compassion fatigue. This session explores how structured and informal forms of peer support can transform individual coping into collective resilience. Participants will learn how to normalize emotional processing, recognize early signs of burnout, and build systems that honor the humanity behind the physician role.
